Local Love with Peterbrooke
Love is in the air and what better way to celebrate than with delectable chocolate? In the heart of Sawgrass Village, you can find Peterbrooke Chocolatier of Ponte Vedra Beach. For years, Peterbrooke chocolates have been a go-to for gifts to family, friends, customers, and other loved ones!
Peterbrooke is celebrating its 40th year of creating decadent sweets for its community. The business was founded by Phyllis Lockwood Geiger, a renowned chocolate expert who wanted to bring back the art of European chocolate making and translate it into what she calls, “The American neighborhood experience.” Phillis named the store after her son, Peter, and her daughter, Brooke. The first Peterbrooke storefront opened its doors in Jacksonville, Florida’s San Marco neighborhood in 1983. Phyllis wanted to hone in on traditional American favorites such as cookies, pretzels, and popcorn by dipping the goodies in her highest-quality chocolate. Peterbrooke was even known to be on the leading edge of America’s “gourmet movement” of the 1980s. She wanted Peterbrooke to stand out from the typical brown and brass look of a common chocolate shop by introducing a color scheme of pink, white, and blue with sleek lines and bright decor.
Now, with over 25 locations, Peterbrooke is a household name among residents of Florida and surrounding states, and we are happy to support our community chocolatier. Also, if you haven’t tried the chocolate covered popcorn yet, let us know so we can change that!
You can visit Peterbrooke in Ponte Vedra Beach at 333 Village Main Street, Suite 690!
