Beach Bowl Reopens in Jacksonville Beach

Finally, after undergoing a multi-million dollar restoration and renovation, the iconic Beach Bowl in Jacksonville Beach has reopened. Known for being a family-oriented entertainment destination, Beach Bowl celebrated its grand opening on June 17. This event came nearly five years after it had closed, much to the disappointment of bowlers and families from Northeast Florida who enjoyed spending their time there.

H&H Enterprises of Jacksonville, the owners of Beach Bowl, announced the reopening on social media after weeks of teasers. The newly revitalized Beach Bowl now features a modern bowling center and a new two-story restaurant with rooftop dining. The building was expanded by about 6,200 square feet to accommodate the restaurant.

Guests can choose between 24 bowling lanes on the main floor or four private lanes on the second floor, which include SPARK bowling. This interactive experience features realistic animations, special effects, and virtual characters projected directly onto the bowling lanes.

Beach Bowl also now includes a large arcade with over 40 interactive games, where players can earn tickets to exchange for prizes. There are two large bars—one on the main floor and another on the second-floor patio—offering 48 beers on tap, cocktails like the Mojito Margarita, and a curated wine list.

The kitchen serves a variety of freshly made-from-scratch lunch and dinner items, including chicken wings, street tacos, flatbreads, and chef-inspired specials. There is also a kids' menu. For group events, three private rooms on the main floor and one on the second floor are available.

Beach Bowl had abruptly closed on November 2, 2019, after about 60 years in business. The closure was announced on Facebook due to a lawsuit regarding the lease. In February 2021, the city of Jacksonville Beach approved a $7.5 million proposal from H&H Enterprises to restore and expand the facility.

Mayor Christine Hoffman expressed her excitement about the reopening, noting that the new Beach Bowl would be an asset to the community. She emphasized that bowling alleys appeal to all ages, making it a popular entertainment option for families, locals, and visitors.

Hoffman, who frequented Beach Bowl during her high school years, shared fond memories of spending time there with friends. The reopening was a significant event for many in the community who had similar nostalgic connections to the venue.

The grand opening included live music, food, drinks, and gifts for all guests. It marked the end of years of planning, restoration, and anticipation, welcoming back a beloved entertainment venue with modern upgrades for everyone to enjoy.
